As men, we always need something to strive for.

Whether it’s woodworking, fixing cars, or playing music, putting time and dedication into a skill or craft gives us purpose.

And this requires mental discipline and focus.

But it’s no secret that brainpower fades with age, leaving us not as sharp as we used to be.

This is one of the many reasons dementia strikes fear into even the toughest man.

It’s expected to get the best of over 152 million people worldwide by 2050.

And there’s no cure…

Only preventative lifestyle interventions.

So, I was all ears when I discovered there’s a fruit that could improve memory and possibly prevent dementia.

A UK study found that a cup of cranberries every day for just 3 months was enough to improve brain performance in 50-80 year olds. [R]

Half the participants were given real cranberry powder while the other half were given a placebo powder.

The group that had real cranberries were able to recollect memories much easier.

There was another effect too:

The cranberry group had significantly better cholesterol levels.

Who knew cranberries were such a superfood?

Incorporating cranberries into your diet can be a challenge if you don’t enjoy bitter and sour tastes.

Thankfully, there are ways to prepare cranberries that are not only enjoyable but also healthy.

The easiest (and my personal favorite) preparation is adding cranberries to your favorite smoothie or shake.

Or you can turn on the stove and make some cranberry sauce.

Tossing some cranberries into oatmeal and allowing it to melt in your bowl is delicious as well.

You get the idea.

Cranberries can last in the fridge or up to a month, so be sure to stock up on your next grocery run if you want to maintain a younger brain into old age.
